Learn French by actually speaking it

You can study French for months and still freeze when it's time to talk. Parlita fixes that by making you speak from the first session: real conversations with an AI partner, living stories you act inside, and the words you stumble on woven into spaced repetition so they stick.

What learning French is actually like

French vocabulary is half familiar before you start, because a good third of English arrived from French after 1066, so you will be reading a menu or a headline long before you can follow one out loud. That gap is the entire difficulty. What sits on the page and what comes out of a mouth are two different things, since the last letters of most words go quiet and then reattach themselves to the front of the next word as soon as somebody speaks at normal speed.

Which is why hearing it and saying it early matters more here than in most languages, and why reading your way in tends to build a false sense of progress. Keep an eye on the words that look like English and are not. Actuellement means currently. Once your ear adjusts, and that takes a few weeks of talking rather than a few months of studying, French stops feeling like a code you decode and starts feeling like a language.
